“Waiting for Helene” lecture series

Ateneum Hall. Get an in-depth understanding of Helene Schjerfbeck from the Ateneum experts before the artist’s exhibition opens! The exhibition Through My Travels I Found Myself – Helene Schjerfbeck will be shown at the Ateneum from November 2019 to January 2020. In Finnish. 

Tickets €25 (normal, incl. the entrance fee) / €10 (with a Museum Card or a Friends of the Ateneum membership card) from Ateneum’s online shop. A coffee or a tea is included.

10 Oct From London to the Ateneum. The lecturer is Anna-Maria von Bonsdorff, chief curator at the Ateneum and curator of the Through My Travels I Found Myself exhibition.

24 Oct Helene Schjerfbeck as a teacher at the Ateneum. The lecturer is Anu Utriainen, curator of the Finnish Artists in Ruovesi exhibition and the keeper of prints and drawings at the Ateneum.

7 Nov Helene Schjerfbeck’s art from a conservator’s and an artist’s perspective. Marja Sakari, the director of the Ateneum Art Museum, interviews the painter Anna Retulainen and the head of conservation at the Finnish National Gallery, Kirsi Hiltunen
