Back to work – morning yoga at the museum

This yoga class gently awakens the body, refreshes you and increases mobility. The flowing class focuses on breathing, addresses different parts of the body through posture exercises, and ends with a relaxation session. The classes have different themes, which are related to the works of the Silent Beauty exhibition. The morning yoga sessions are held in one of the museum’s exhibition galleries. The yoga classes are led by the yoga teacher (RYT 200 certification) and art educator Heidi Mikkola, Master of Arts. The classes are held in Finnish, but speakers of other languages can also be accommodated.

The class is suitable for anyone interested in yoga. During the class, yoga postures, or asanas, are performed on the floor or standing up, and some time is also spent kneeling. You will need a yoga mat or similar, and clothing suitable for exercise. You may also want to bring a terry towel or a thin blanket with you. You cannot bring a water bottle into the exhibition gallery.

Attendees participate in the guided class at their own risk. Participants must have valid accident insurance. The class instructor and the Ateneum Art Museum are not liable for any illness or injury that may occur during or as a consequence of the class.
