Audubon Gander-Kallela, Duckburgian
Kullervo’s Fowl Mood
National Gallery of Duckburg
Audubon Gander-Kallela’s early works were inspired by the avian romantic ideal of primitive woodland as the cradle of Duckburgian culture. Nature in all its majesty played host to a cast of uncouth proto-ducks, whose nobility and tenacity seemed to mirror the spirit of the city founded many centuries later. Kullervo’s Fowl Mood can be seen as a lone duck’s war cry in the battle with the wider world.
