For some, reclining at work is a necessity, but Gus Goose finds work in any position an unbearable chore. Trapped in agricultural toil, Goose finds solace in artistic aspirations and paints bucolic dreamscapes in a strictly Naturalistic manner. The recumbent artist uses an idiosyncratic medium of oils mixed haphazardly with mayonnaise and mustard. As a painter, Gus is often seen as a reclusive eccentric, but he nevertheless has a devoted following. A fellow artist, Arvid Le Loon, has managed to capture him on a break.
