Ducklings Playing on the Shore

Albert Eiderfelt’s Ducklings Playing on the Shore represents the Duckburgian art scene’s first steps away from historical and nationalistic themes towards a more mundane, deeply duckcentric vision. The summery scene has three ducklings playing with a bath toy on the seashore against a backdrop of islands and the Cape Quack lighthouse. Eiderfelt has captured the gentle thrill of the game and the sun’s warm glow in an unprecedented way. The model for all three ducklings is actually Dewey Duck, the only one of the busy siblings willing to pose for the artist.
