Welcome to Café Ateneum! The café serves sweet and savoury delicacies as well as coffee, tea, soft drinks and wine.

Open from Tuesday to Sunday from 12:00 to 17:00. Entrance only with an admission ticket.

Colour Photos from Repin’s Russia

On display at the café are photographs of Sergey Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorsky. Russian chemist and photographer Prokudin-Gorsky (1863–1944) was an early pioneer of colour photography and colour cinema. Prokudin-Gorsky made several trips from 1903 onwards to take photographs of the Russian Empire. His work was subsequently endorsed by Tsar Nicholas II.

Ateneum Bistro

Take a break in the atmospheric Ateneum Bistro! The restaurant-café offers classic Finnish bistro cuisine with a modern twist. In addition to lunch, the bistro serves sweet and savoury delicacies to enjoy with coffee or tea. 

The opening hours are the same as the museum’s.

Ateneum Bistro serves a delicious lunch from 11:00–14:00 Tuesday to Friday. Sweet and savoury snacks and delicacies are also available.

Afternoon tea is available on weekdays and at weekends (must be booked in advance). Afternoon tea includes small delicacies and a pot of tea for two.

Museum shop 

Pick up a souvenir from the museum shop 

Complete your museum experience with a visit to the Ateneum’s museum shop! The shop features a wide range of souvenirs and products related to the Ateneum’s art collections and temporary exhibitions as well as publications, cards, and gifts. Each purchase supports the Ateneum. Thank you for your support! 

The Ateneum museum shop includes the shop in the inner courtyard, the poster shop in the ticket sales hall, and an occasional pop-up shop in connection with an exhibition. Visitors are welcome in the museum shop without viewing the exhibitions.

Gift cards 

Buy a gift card to the Finnish National Gallery museums from Ticket Sales or the museum shop! The gift card is valid as a means of payment in museum shops and at service points at the Ateneum, Kiasma and Sinebrychoff art museums. 

The gift card is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. With the gift card, you can buy tickets, guided tours, workshops and museum shop products, for example. It cannot be used in museum restaurants or online shops.

The museum shop is online! Visit our web shop to explore the Finnish National Gallery’s selection and have your order shipped to your home. Entrance tickets to Ateneum’s events can also be purchased online.
